An Obsession...
In taoism,  light is seen as the abstract depiction of the divine.  Light represents goodness, purity and life. Darkness symbolizes evil, the diabolical, the impure and death. This juxtaposition of light against dark or Yin Yang is a prevailing theme throughout all my work.  It is an obsession, a passion and a fascination with dichotomy and the need for balance.  I believe that water is the element that gives birth to all life.  It represents humility,gentleness, and a mind in perfect repose. When these forces collide, a perfect balance of life emerges from the darkness. The water gives birth to the purity and brilliance of light that breaks through the darkness creating a perfect equilibrium - a divine state.
